The Past Few Months…

We’ve been pretty busy. Finally here are some pictures to prove it.

In August we traveled to Idaho for Grandma Crofts funeral. Here we are in front of the farmhouse which Micah’s Dad grew up in.

Micah is a ghost!

bagpipers

Since Micah finished his Pediatrics rotation he had a week off of school, so we took advantage of it as much as we could. On September 12 we hit two festivals, a Celtic Festival and a Ukrainian festival. It was so rad. These are real bagpipers.

Listening to Celtic music with a sweet lobster puppet we got for free.

On a particularly nice day we decided to ride our bikes downtown. I got really tired. It was about 15 miles, so. But it was fun.

Free Burger at TGI Fridays.

If you become a fan of "Woody" (some sort of TGI Fridays freaky mascot or something) on facebook, they will send you a coupon for a free burger!!! Pretty cool. I guess you can only redeem the coupon in a 3-4 day period (Oct. 11-14), but still a pretty sweet deal! In order to get the coupon, you need to become Woody's fan before Sept. 30, 2009.

Click here to register to be Woody's facebook fan.

As a side note, it looks as if all the Western Washington TGI Fridays are closing....
All Washington TGI Friday's closing.

Too bad...

Lemon Clam Pasta

1/2 c butter
3 Tbs olive oil
1/2 c finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 8 oz cans clams, drained(save liquid)
3 Tbs lemon juice
1 Tbs chopped parsley
2 tsp grated lemon peel
1/4 tsp pepper
1 bay leaf
1 lb spaghetti, cooked and drained
1 c grated Parmesan cheese
6 lemon wedges
2 green onions, chopped

Heat 3 Tbs butter and olive oil in heavy pan. Saute
onion and garlic until tender. Add liquid from clams,
lemon juice, parsley, lemon peel, pepper, and bay
leaf; simmer until liquid is reduced to about 1 c.
Remove bay leaf. Stir in clams and heat thoroughly.
Add remaining butter; stir until melted. Pour sauce
over spaghetti, sprinkle with cheese and the chopped green onions. Serve with
lemon wedges.

-Favorite Brand Name Recipe Cookbook

This is one of my favorite recipes. Growing up, my mom made it for me for every birthday! The flavor of the clams and the lemon all in a buttery butter sauce is just delicious. You should give it a try! It is an easy recipe as well. Snow's chopped canned clams work well and are what we usually use.

The way things are.

"With this layout, anything you post will be wonderful!" quoth Micah. I suppose it is basically true. He's been working for hours on the illumination of our blog, and I have to say the result is pretty fantastic. We chose to make an illuminated blog because we both like medieval looking things I suppose. That's the honest truth. I also suppose I enjoy the juxtaposition of a modern blog with the look of an archaic manuscript.

We hope this blog will serve you well in keeping up to date with all the goings on. I have been avoiding participation in the blogging world too long, so it's good that Micah helped in making the idea a reality. Note that I will probably not post anything too interesting like politics or the latest on celebrity lifestyles. Maybe Micah will.

Pictures are coming soon.
