Oh the cleverness of me!

This past weekend was a magical marathon menagerie of anniversarial madness. It began on Thursday when we treated ourselves to a show -  the three-sixty production of:

Peter Pan-thumb-640xauto-273882

The theatre was in a tent. So it felt kindof like the circus. But it was PETER PAAAN! So the flying was crazy. And full of technological fanciness. They didn’t have all the cool songs, but I suppose this is an entirely new production, so they left them out. We had a good ole fashioned time.

On Friday, I woke up wayyyy too early (like 5:30am). So I went to my magical technology box (you might call it a “computer”) to find an email from Groupon. They were starting this new thing called “Groupon Now” in which a bunch of businesses around Chicago were giving $1 deals for their goods. The trick was that you had to use the coupon that same day.  But the goods were GOOD! I got a $70 haircut for ONE DOLLA! And we got a full rack of ribs dinner for ONE DOLLA!

Micah was in disbelief when I told him about this deal. But when we got our ribs we were totally converted.

The sweetest deal of our lives! We figured it was the world’s way of saying “thanks for being married for two years. Here’s some ribs”.

Monday was our actual anniversary. Micah made me pancakes! Yippee!

Two years we are a family! Two years we are rich with each others company! ‘Tis a life sweeter than chocolate.

Makin stuff.

That’s right. This past weekend I have been afflicted with what we think was acute bronchitis. So instead of trying to sleep, I taught myself how to make a quilt, then made one.

It is obviously not large enough for an adult, therefore it is a quilt for smaller humans, like babies, or midgets.

I particularly enjoy this fabric, because there are birds, foxes and bunnies.

It was a satisfying project to finish. Hooray for learning stuff on the internet!

And just for fun, I shall post a video. Recently Micah volunteered to have a feeding tube inserted through his nose for a demonstration in his resident teaching class. Unfortunately it didn’t go in, but he braved a lot of poking and jabbing in the attempt. All in the name of science, right? He deserves a trophy. (Actually, he has won many awards at school, we’ll see if I can manage to write about them all sneaky like, eh? Later…)

My music of choice

Did you know that Paul Simon is my favorite? I think I’ve already mentioned that somewhere on this blog. But! He has a new album out! I was kindof surprised, because he is getting older, but at the same time, I was not surprised, because he is OMNIPOTENT and can write music forever as far as I’m concerned.

A few days ago I found out that he is going to be in Chicago this month, and I freaked out. But of course, all the tickets are sold out, or super expensive on ebay. BLAUGH, THE THINGS I SACRIFICE!

It kindof stinks to be a fan of someone who you worry might die before you see them in concert. PAULY! HOLD OUT FOR ME PLEASE! Someone grant this guy immortality!
