FUN TIMES

We recently made a trip to California. It was Pippa’s first plane ride. We expected the worst, but she did extremely well. She slept the whole time, both ways. One guy told us, “your baby wins.” Yes. She does.

While in California, we enjoyed:

beautiful beaches,

family togetherness,

But wait! There’s more!

Yesterday Micah had the day off.  Since he will be doing Internal Medicine this month we are gearing up for some intense work hours. So we spent a relaxing day by the BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL Snoqualmie falls.

Friends!?!?

So right as I was about to post a thought I had onto Facebook, I thought, "No! I am not in the mood to be a patron to this enterprise today!" and decided to write my thoughts on my blog, because that is where my real friends are.

You are there, aren't you? :-/

Speaking of friends, this was the random thought I had about them today. I'm pretty sure that if I have played a video game or two with you, then we are real friends. Like, for really real. I know it sounds odd and perhaps rather dumb, but when I play video games I get really into it, and I am not embarrassed. If you are, then I would suggest you find another girl to hang out with.

This might explain why I was friends with a lot of guys in college.

Trying out the new blogger app.

Just so you know, we are still alive, and I am not planning on abandoning our blog anytime soon. I've actually just gotten an iPad and have been having way too much fun with it. So you can blame apple for taking away your favorite blogger ever from the blogging world for a little while. But rest assured we are making plans to post more recipes and fun stuff soon. Maybe even Micah will make a post one of these days! Then perhaps you might know the joys of his labors as a resident psychiatrist....

Happy conference weekend, by the way.

Much love from us Crofts - where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children are above average.

Hello!

I guess I’ve fallen into the whole “my baby is cuter than all the other babies” trap. Sue me.

I HAZ A THEORY!

If you have a computer, you’ve probably noticed how the young folks are using this thing called “Skype" – like the ubiquitous Google, people are even making into a verb and making requests to “skype” one another. Have you ever used it? With someone other than your mom? Were you somewhat put off by it for some inexplicable reason? Were you utterly amazed at the idea of being able to see your loved ones from far away, like in the sci-fi movies, but once you tried it it got really old, really fast?

You’re not alone.

For a long time, I used to skype (there’s that verb again) – with people and during the “conversation” I seemed to have forgotten EVERY IMPORTANT THING I WANTED TO SAY. I would close the box feeling slightly bewildered. I somehow lost sight of the real purpose of the call.

WHY!?

Well turns out that when you skype, there is a little box where you can see yourself!!

What starts out like this…

skype live conversation

Turns into this:

mememe

It’s not a conversation with the other person! It’s a conversation with your egotistical self!

So next time you Skype with (GR!) or video chat with somebody, try turning the darn mirror off. It might be difficult! But chances are your hair will look the same at the end of a conversation as it did at the beginning.

Or you might not like skype because the people you talk to are boring. I cannot help you there.
