Pippa’s things

Pippa’s room is also a closet.

I feel bad telling people this, because it makes it sound like she is an accessory.

But it is actually a rather large closet.

I made her a mobile with rain clouds. Because that is all she will ever know in her young life.

Just kidding. They are just cute.

Pippa has two special quilts. The one I made, and one she received from the special quilt lady from our ward. She is special because she is secret. Nobody knows who she is. And she makes a quilt for EVERY. BABY. IN. THE. WARD. And there are a lot of babies.

It’s one of the coolest things I have ever heard of.

We keep all of Pippa’s clothes and other things in there too since, like I said, it is a large closet. Even for a tremendous amount of Costco Baby wipes.

There’s even some artwork on the wall, courtesy of our friend Emily! Click on her name to see more of her work on her awesome blog.

In other fascinating and exciting news, I made lemon bars last night. YEAHHHHH!

It’s not a special recipe at all. It’s actually the first recipe that comes up when you Google, “Lemon Bars.” But it turned out well, so I’m putting here on the blog for safe keeping.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup)
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, blend together softened butter, 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan. (Or, if you like them thicker like me, put it in an 8'” by 11” pan.)
  3. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden. In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Whisk in the eggs and lemon juice. Pour over the baked crust.
  4. Bake for an additional 20 minutes in the preheated oven. The bars will firm up as they cool.

Love a lot of things about this post. The mobile! The lemon bars! But may I ask, where did you get the hanging closet organizers and boxes on the top shelf? Are they IKEA?

Gracias.

I love you even more for using the word facehole.

Yes. They are Ikea! Their cheapy cheap organizing stuff makes it hard to hate them.
