Happy Easter!
Time for PYSANKY!!!
Below is a video I made of the end part (the best part) where I take off the wax. Also some crazy Bandura music. ENJOY!
Христос воскрес!!!!!!!!!!
Edit:
The video is public now! Sorry about that guys.
I’m rather surprised at the way Easter has become almost a totally different holiday since living in Ukraine.
I’m listening to this song while making this year’s pysanky:
I was asked to teach the Relief Society members of my ward how to do Pysanky, and as a result I have been learning all kinds of new things about the craft. Go on the Wikipedia page to found out some of the cool legends surrounding this traditional art.
I’ll be posting pictures soon! Meanwhile, have a great Conference Weekend! Now that we have the internet, you have no excuse not to watch it!
Not to make you jealous…
But had a total of 13 Pies last night!!
SUGAR OVERLOAD!!!
After baking pies all day I was barely able to restrain myself from digging my hands into one and eating it with abandon. Pippa could hardly wait either…
But it was worth the wait. The pies in attendance were:
Apple
Cherry
Peach-cherry
Marion berry
Lemon Meringue
Key Lime
Banana Cream
Peanut Butter
Strawberry-Rhubarb
And the wonderful guest pies:
Pumpkin
Strawberry
Okinawan Sweet Potato Pie with Haupia topping (most exotic pie award!)
Chocolate Hazelnut!
And some cookies!
Thanks to all the people who brought pie! It was a glorious Pi(e) Day!!
YOU TERRIBLE, WONDERFUL, ALL-CONSUMING WEBSITE.
You’re taking over my life.
But that’s okay.
RECENT PROJECTS:
Our TV needed a new place to sit on besides our old target bookshelf.
So we got this for free from someone who didn’t want it:
Primed it:
And painted it green!
(Yah, the Valentines’ Day hearts are still up. They are so cute, though, I didn’t have the HEART to take them down. *Chuckles*)
Meanwhile in the culinary world, we were faced with a certain Pizza Friday with a desire to try something new:
Looks pretty good huh?
THE CRUST IS MADE FROM CAULIFLOWER!
It was pretty tasty. Did not taste much like cauliflower at all.
(Can you guess which side is Micah’s and which one is mine?)
Finally, another tasty dish:
Cheddar broccoli soup in a sourdough bowl! It was so delicious!
So if you’re not on Pinterest yet, well, we can’t be friends.
Just kidding.
You’re just boring.
Or a guy.
