Contemplations.

Sometimes I fail to realize that the internet is a big big place.

Meaning, that all the crazy incriminating videos I post of Micah are available for all to see.

Interestingly, Micah has no problem with this. Guys. Did I luck out, or WHAT???

I suppose since I am the main author of this blog I am free to post whatever I want. But to many visiting for the first time I cannot give them a warning about how weird I really am and provide some kind of disclaimer that all the content of this blog is basically whatever is in my head at the moment. And whatever is in our camera’s memory card at the moment.

The funny thing about Micah (hope this isn’t awkward…oops..now it is since I just acknowledged it as such) is that I can post all the silly things he does in broad daylight with no problem, but if I were to actually point out all the amazing things he accomplishes in med school and work, there might be some grief. It’s been this way since I’ve known him, actually. At first he appeared like a rather weird, somewhat dim-witted person. (HAH, he really doesn’t appear that way at all, I was going through a very judgmental phase in my life) But it turned out that he was a genius. So let that be a lesson you you kids. 

But here’s what I am getting at. I don’t (and won’t) want to be specific about  what Micah succeeds at because I respect the fact that he is trying to be less self-promoting. Right now I think he is struggling to do that for his applications for residency. :0) So I’ll be good and promise not to brag, alright??

Three cheers for Micah, RAH! RAH! RAhhhh…..ok I’m done now.

Festivals and Concerts

We’ve been having a lot of fun lately. Need proof? Well here it is, yo!!!!

We cooked Salmon on a cedar plank!! YUMOLUCIOUS!! We could not believe how delightful it tasted!

Does that not look amazing?! Fried zucchini, roasted potatoes, homemade rolls, and of course the salmon. I want to eat this picture.

We also tried making homemade cherry varenyky. I used a homemade cherry pitter. It worked well. All you need is an old fork and you use pliers to bend it like so:

Speaking of Varenyky, we went to the Ukrainian Days Festival this past weekend. They celebrated Ukraine’s Independence Day and it was a lot of fun. And of course, amazing food.

Sausage, kraut, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage rolls, perogies, and apple sauce….all in one plate. We were quite satisfied.

Ok so enough food, eh? What about the culture? Well we watched some Ukrainian performers sing and dance and play instruments.

We also went downtown to see Mahler’s 2nd Symphony. It was really lucky because at first it looked like the seats were all full, but people got bored I guess after a while (?????) and tons of people left after the 1st movement! Fools! We therefore were able to take their seats! What they didn’t realize was how amazing the last movement is. Micah has seen it like 5 times now. We’re pretty sure it will be playing at the 2nd coming. . .maybe. Haha.

Oh and Micah won’t let me get away without posting this. I met Hello Kitty! Yeah, she was at the mall. I made a few adorable purchases. I am a sanrio fan, always have been. Don’t laugh, it’s true. You can get me a stupid little trinket at that store and I will cherish it. Ok random enough?

Oriental Institute

A while ago we went to the Oriental Institute at the university campus. It was a sight to see.

Micah’s afraid of the mummies!

On the way home we stopped by Powells Books. Micah got a whole bunch of free books and rode home on his bike with them. Shoot dawg. I told him to get a bag or something. But he didn’t drop any. Bike skilz.

A new post.

Yeah so I had a hard time coming up with a clever title for this post. But it’s not like I ever write any really clever titles anyway.

Micah just finished his Dermatology rotation – it was a good one, with reasonable hours. Now he is in the beginning of his Psych rotation. More hours, but more interest in the subject. We’ll see how it turns out.

Wait, it’s August already?!

Well we had a good weekend at least. Friday’s pizza friday was brought to us by Pesto Pizza, highly recommended.

 

Summery. Light. Delicious.

Saturday we went to the Indiana Dunes.

While there we found that the thin rocks could be broken easily into jagged pieces. So we made a danger zone for somebody to step on, of course.

Haha. Just kidding. We don’t enjoy harming other people.

Although self-destruction was on Micah’s agenda.

 

I think somebody even said “That looks fun!” ….um, no, it doesn’t. But spinning really fast gives some kids some sort of high, I guess.

We also went to the outlet mall in Indiana. I scored some great deals at Old Navy, and Micah actually bought a shirt at Banana Republic. This is a big deal guys.

Then we had dinner at my favorite burger place.
